antique wood shaft long nose golf putter - Y-model

Offered here is an interesting wood shaft aluminum head long nose putter made by the Mills company in Sunderland England c1910 - very unusual tinthat it also includes the markings of the BGI Co. These putters were made by the Mills company to mimic the style of the famous makers from the 1800's in this case a Hugh Philp feather ball era long nose putter from the 1860's. This putter has very good markings as shown in the photos "The Mills Y Model Upright Lie 9 oz. 9 dr. The top of the club has the patent information and made by the "Standard Golf Co. Mills patent Sunderland". The hosel is in good condition with no cracks -- often there are cracks in the hosel of aluminum putters so this one is a nice find. There are the usual "dings" associated with aluminum head clubs and the grip appears to be an older leather grip in good condition. The shaft is in good condition - This wood shaft putter certainly is different from most wood shaft putters - it shows it's age and with it's interesting shape and history would display nicely in your collection.
