Stovepipe golf bags
Stovepipe golf bags are distinguished by their round shape - hence the name stovepipe - typically with an inside diameter of between 4 and 5 inches. These bags origins date to c1917 and as time passed the inside diameter became larger and other than round shapes appeared. Most construction was of canvas and leather with full leather stovepipe bags appearing rarely. Stovepipe bags are prized as a display either on their own or with hickory shaft golf clubs and old mesh golf balls.

Bag #1... marked clearly on the steel bottom R.H.B.CO.CHICAGO PAT.6-12-17...made by the Burke company in 1917. Made of canvas and leather trim it has the original leather strap intact but is missing the leather strap to close the ball pouch. Bag #6-SOLD.. marked on the steel bottom with some surface rust, CLIFF MADE IN ENGLAND... Made of canvas and leather trim with straps and buckles intact including umbrella strap and club divider. Note that there are two tears to the canvas near the top of the bag - I have seen others like this repaired with old canvas but this is in "as is" condition...Inside diameter 5 inches, height 35 inches....
